The history of Clean up day
Our Town, Our Time!
Here we are in our ninth year of Clean up Foxboro day and the need to sanitize our community is greater than ever! This community tradition was co-founded by Town Historian Jack Authelet and A.J. Dooley and since May 2nd of 2013 has removed a consistent FIVE TONS per year of trash and unwanted debris from the streets of Foxboro.

How did Clean up Foxboro day begin? A.J. Dooley responded to an article written and published by Authelet that was titled "Time To Clean Up Foxboro." In his article Authelet expressed his concern for the town of Foxboro and the amount of litter that was spread across its streets.

Dooley, Authelet, and Tina Belanger Foxboro school committee member and town resident combined their resources and in less than 30 days created a tradition soon to be a decade old that gives the citizens of Foxboro pride and allows them to unite under the common goal of cleanliness!

Due to the pandemic Clean up Foxboro Day did not happen last in 2020. That means there is double the amount of trash in the streets of Foxboro that needs the attention of the community. With your help, A.J. Dooley, and our sponsors vow to make this years Clean up Foxboro day the biggest event of the year! We hope to have an army of volunteers, community leaders, and business pitching in to bring back the shine of Foxboro!
"This is our town, it is our time, and we will come back stronger than ever!"
